The tapir is a large, herbivorous mammal with a short, prehensile nose trunk. Size varies between types, but most tapirs are about 2 m long and weigh between 150 and 300 kg. Four recognised extant tapir species exist, three in Central and South America and one in Southeast Asia. In Chinese and Japanese folklore, tapirs, like their chimerical counterpart, are believed to eat people’s nightmares. World Tapir Day is celebrated on 27 April each year.

Papyrus is a writing material made from the papyrus plant, a reed that grows in the marshy areas around the Nile River. Papyrus was used as a “paper” as early as 3,000 BC in ancient Egypt until around 1100 AD. With its up to 10 feet high, the papyrus plant was used to make everything! The ancient Egyptians used papyrus to make paper, baskets, sandals, mats, rope, blankets, tables, chairs, mattresses, medicine, perfume, food, and clothes.
